I suspect the same would happen if the head was targeted. Hulk has had his flesh blown away to the bare bone before, same as Wolverine, and the tissue just regrows back and works as good as new. Now the thing is, they COULD die but as soon as their healing factor has the material required and is removed from the effect causing death, they recover.

I suspect that the blood splatters and such are cells that were not able to be reintegrated and when back in their hideouts they have to eat more to replace the minimal amount of cellular material their body couldn't reabsorb. I suspect that the same would work for Hulk and Wolverine if the limbs were fully separated - that they're bodies would recognize the same tissue and not waste valid material. Most times they need the body part back and just reattach it as I've seen in several security camera feeds for Deadpool's activities. And they don't seem to need food to do this.Ĭonversation of mass doesn't seem to apply to them when they're healing. For these mutant weirdos - and radioactive weirdo for the Hulk - they can and have regrown these parts. That's because we're breaking down food into components our bodies can use to replace what's injured if it can (eyes, nerves, some organs don't for instance). See, when you and I heal, it's a process of days at least. I KNOW, that's a crap answer but let me explain a bit.
